For the fifth volume of this popular series, Sony Publishing Japan did choose some weird themes, but nevertheless it's just getting better and better. Still, some problems which seem to stick to each volume are present. The Orchestral Game Concert series is a unique niche in the whole Video Game market. To the best of my knowledge the series is unique, unless of course some obscure gems exist that are unknown to the American shores.

For me, the best of Orchestral Game Concert 5 is the orchestrated remake of the Dragon Quest multiple pieces. All of them have good orchestrated remakes. For example, take the track 6, "Dragon Quest VI: Flying Bed." The whole track is smooth and lively; an interesting blend. The drawback of this album is the numerous tracks with Nintendo music. Nintendo does good work, but an orchestrated track of childish music such a Kirby and Donkey Kong just didn't grab me. Get something with attitude like Zelda, not Kirby and Donkey Kong please. Music like that being orchestrated is just not right.

Also, in the introduction I was addressing problems that stick to the Orchestral Game Concert series like glue, yet this is just part of the show and human. Remember in Orchestral Game Concert 2 and 3 sometimes you could hear someone speaking or someone dropping something on the floor. This is amusing, but if you could hear this on the final version, well I do question that. And as you may have noticed, in Orchestral Game Concert 5 this is still present but at a far lesser degree than the first three albums of the series.

In conclusion, Orchestral Game Concert 5 is a worthy addition to the series, but I hope that the design team will choose better Nintendo tracks than Donkey Knog Country and Kirby. My Advice: get it before the price soars to three hundred dollars like the first one.
