NOBUO UEMATSU
Considered by many gamers as the "God of Gaming Music", Nobuo Uematsu's
musical talent is unparalleled. He is so crucial to the success of the
Final Fantasy series, that one
cannot image playing any of these games without his striking scores
behind them. Nobuo is well-grounded in world and classical music and it
shows in many of his compositions. Not only has he scored the Final
Fantasy game music, but he has worked closely with Squaresoft to create
both orchestrated and piano collections based on these games.
But Final Fantasy is not his only music credential. He has contributed to the Front Mission series for Squaresoft as well as collaborating with other game composers on "Ten Plants". He has one excellent solo work to his name, the out-of-print "Phantasmagoria". Nobuo is a composer who has not exhausted his potential. In fact, he seems to thrive with each new project he undertakes. Clearly his masterpiece is the recent Final Fantasy IX original soundtrack.
